Preptime: 1 hour

Cooktime: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 grams minced lamb
  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onions
  • 1 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons ketjap manis
  • 30 gyoza sheets
  • Japanese kewpie mayonnaise
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1/2 chopped Chinese cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • vegetable oil
  • sriracha
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Put the minced meat, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, ketjap manis, salt, pepper, sesame oil, Chinese cabbage, spring onions together in a bowl. Knead to a nice filling.
  2. Now we are going to fill the gyoza sheets. We do this by putting a little filling on the middle of the sheet. Then fold the gyoza in your own way. Tip: there are many videos on youtube on how to fold the dumplings exactly.
  3. Now make sure you have two pans. A pan with a layer of vegetable oil (for frying the bottom of the dumpling) and a pan with a lid (where we are going to steam the dumplings).
  4. Heat the oil for frying in the pan. And deep-fry the bottom of the dumplings until crispy.
  5. Then move the dumplings to the other pan. You put a little water in the pan, and then immediately put the lid on the pan, so that the dumplings can steam. This takes 2 minutes.
  6. Now remove the lid from the pan and let the dumplings fry dry for 1 minute. So that the bottom remains crispy.
  7. Now serve the dumplings with a little mayonnaise, sriracha and spring onions on top.
