Heart Marble cake

This mini cake is super cute and very tasty! Perfect if you want to bake something small. The cake is super soft and fluffy inside. And tastes rich with vanilla and chocolate, which is a very nice combination. Are you going to try it out? You can make 1 serving with this recipe!

Ingredients:

For the Chocolate cake batter:

  • 40 grams of unsalted butter
  • 40 grams dark chocolate 
  • 40 grams dark brown sugar
  • 20 ml water
  • 20 ml sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 40 grams flour
  • 8 gram cacao powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

For the Vanilla cake batter:

  • 40 grams flour
  • 40 granulated sugar
  • 0,5 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 25 gram unsalted butter
  • 20 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0,5 egg white
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

For the chocolate ganache:

  • 4 tbsp heavy cream
  • 80 grams dark chocolate
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Make the chocolate cake batter: Melt the butter and chocolate together. Let it cool down for 5 minutes and add the sour cream. Add the egg and whisk until smooth. Sift in the flour and cacao powder. Last Add the baking powder and salt. 
  3. Make the vanilla cake portion: Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Cut in the butter until the flour has an even, crumbly texture. Add the milk and lemon juice, egg white and vanilla to the flour mixture. Combine all ingredients together till you have a fluffy batter.
  4. In a mini baking tin, put some baking paper and brush the edges with butter and dust them with flour.
  5. Now put heaps of the chocolate batter and vanilla batter in the baking tin. Pull through the batter with a skewer to create a marble effect.
  6. Bake for about 30-40 minutes until the cake bounces back when pressed.
  7. Let the cake cool down for 30 minutes.
  8. We are making the chocolate ganache in the meantime: For this you put the chocolate with the heavy cream in a bowl. You melt this whole in the microwave for 1 minute. Mix well with a spoon to a thicker mixture.
  9. Now decorate the marble cake with the chocolate ganache on top. Enjoy!
